Port settings for optical probe to connect smart meter Landis+Gyr E570

DLMSDirector

Hi, this is the only place I have found with lots of infos on smart meters so I thought someone here may be able to help.
I attempted to connect DLMSDirector to my smart meter E570 Landis+Gyr S2 with my optical probe (it's an ordinary optical probe IEC1107 not Aip200 Landis+Gyr optical probe) but the DLMSDirector keeps failing.
So I have two questions :

1) It is necessary to use Aip200 Landis+Gyr optical probe to connect with smart meter Landis+Gyr E570 Or my ordinary optical probe IEC1107 can do the job?

2) What is the right serial port settings to connect to smart meter Landis+Gyr E570?

And I will send you picture of optical that i'm using and screenshoot of GXDLMSDirector settings for L+G E570 and my current serial port settings.

I appreciate any assistance.

Regards

Hi, Sorry to say, but there…

Hi,

Sorry to say, but there are a lot of differences between optical probes. Some optical probes work with all DLMS meters without problems and some work only with a few meters.

IEC1107 is using ASCII protocol and DLMS is using binary protocol and it might be that your optical head is not working with the meter.

If you select HdlcWithModeE you should be able to establish the connection with your meter.

Your settings look correct. If you select "View", "Log" and "View Log" can you see if the meter sending any reply? At first, there is an IEC handshake and the meter should reply to that.

BR,
Mikko
