Hi, Check your wirings first…

Hi,

Check your wirings first. Then select Indian Standard as a manufacturer. Select HDLC to interface. Now I can't remember if the default baud rate of the secure premier is 4800 or 9600. You need to try both.

Hi, As per manufacturer the…

Hi,

As per manufacturer the default configurations are

Baud rate - 9600 , Parity - None, stop bit -1

Data bits – 8 , authentication password – ABCD0001

I am using a RS232 to Ethernet adapter to connect with meter.

I am not able to get any response from meter.

I have verified the connections. It is as per the connection given by manufacturer, which I have shared earlier.

Also attaching the response.

Hi,

Try to read the meter first without RS232 to the Ethernet adapter.
Ethernet adapters might cause problems sometimes.

Check your wires. That is a really common reason.

Hi My problem is resolved…

Hi

My problem is resolved now. The issue was with connection only. I was not connecting the RTS/CTS to the RS232 converter. Although most of the RS232 communication is established using RX, TX and GND pin only. But in this situation RTS/CTS was required to pulled up to the V+ of the RS232 driver.

Hi, Thank you for letting me…

Hi,

Thank you for letting me know about this. Solving communication problems for RS-232 and RS-485 can be really hard because there are multiple reasons why the meter doesn't reply.

Mikko
