Connecting to meter using Wrapper

Hello, I’m trying to connect to a meter using GXDLMSDirector.

I can successfully connect to the meter using a probe with the following configuration:

  • Interface: HDLC with Mode E
  • Logical Server Address: 1
  • Client Address: 1
  • Physical Server Address: 16
  • Authentication: Low
  • Password: 00000000

However, I cannot connect to the meter over TCP/IP.

1. HDLC with Mode E over TCP/IP

I first tried using HDLC with Mode E over the network. I received the following:

15:44:01 Send SNRM request.

2. WRAPPER over TCP/IP

I then tried using the WRAPPER interface with:

  • IP: 105.198.230.49
  • Port: 4059
  • Client Address: 1
  • Logical Server Address: 1
  • Physical Server Address: 16
  • Authentication: Low
  • Password: 00000000

The TCP port is reachable (Test-NetConnection succeeds), but the DLMS association is rejected:

Gurux.DLMS.GXDLMSException:
Connection is permanently rejected. No reason given.

Since the probe connection works with the same DLMS addresses, authentication, and password, I’m wondering whether there is a different configuration required for TCP/IP, such as a different client/server address, interface setting, or WRAPPER-specific configuration.

Is there anything I need to change in the GXDLMSDirector configuration to connect to the meter over TCP/IP?

Hi,

I believe that your meter is using a different client address than 0x10.
Try changing the authentication level to None and keeping the client address at 0x10.

I believe that you can connect to the meter.

This used client address should be in the meter documentation.
