Hello Mikko,

I'd like to ask you about System title field structure.

As I know, Server system title is 8 bytes long, first 3 bytes is manufacturer code and 5 more are meter serial.

I never thought that System title must obey some rules too except 8 bytes long,
so I named it in my case as 'homepc08'

Recently I've noticed that DLMS Director in Translator dialog is trying to decode this field as

with help of IsT1, isT2 in GXCommon.cs

So the question is how should I name my local PC system title to get rid of such translation. Should I imagine some manufacturer code and some serial for my local PC or something else?

Hi Andre,

The system title depends on the DLMS standard being used and on whether the device is a meter or a client.

The structure of the system title is defined in the IDIS standards. As you mentioned, DLMS specifies that a meter's system title typically consists of a three-character manufacturer Flag ID followed by the meter's serial number.

On the client side, you can usually use any system title you want. However, some Italian meters may require a specific client system title; otherwise, the meter may reject the connection.

This is ignored if the third character is not between b-h. The system title is shown in DLMS format If you change the system title, e.g. HOMEpc08
