General discussion

Hi, i have problems in using gxdlms director to communicate with an EMH NXT4 meter. However, if using their provided software, i can establish the communication plus i am able to take readouts using the software. The settings used in the proprietary software is described below : -

Communication : COM PORT (COM 1)
Baud Rate : 9600
Login password: 123
w5-password : 123
Meter Address : meter_serial_number

what is the equivalent setting that i could set in gxdlms director?

Hi,

Hi,
EMH NXT4 is using IEC 62053-21. You can'r read it with GXDLMSDirector.
They are different protocols.

EMH NXT4 meter

Hi, I am also trying to establish connection to EMH NXT4 meter using GXDLMSDirector and seem unable to do so. According to the data sheet, meter is not limited to using IEC 65056-21 but is capable of using DLMS also ( http://emh-meter.com/images/Produkt-Dokumentation/Spezialzaehler/NXT4/N… ). Unfortunately I don't have access to the EMH software, so using GXDLMSDirector is my only choice. Could someone suggest the connection settings for said meter ( BaudRate, Data Bits, Parity, Stop Bits)? I can't find them in the data sheet. Thank you very much!

EMH NXT4 meter

Hi,

You are right. DLMS is listed on Data interfaces. Even the information what we have is wrong or it's old.
We are reading other EMH meters.
Can you try to connect settings start protocol to IEC. Meter should reply.
If it fails, try to set 8N1 and baudrate to 9600 or 4800.

Let me know if you can't connect.

Still unable to connect.

Tried everything you suggested and unfortunately, I am still unable to establish connection. Log file looks like this:

GXDLMSDirector 8.1.1902.1801
Log created 14:56:33
14:56:36 Initializing serial connection.
14:56:37 HDLC sending:/?7325284!<CR><LF>
14:56:47 Failed to receive reply from the device in given time.
System.Exception: Failed to receive reply from the device in given time.
at GXDLMSDirector.GXDLMSDevice.InitializeConnection()
at GXDLMSDirector.MainForm.Connect(Object sender, GXAsyncWork work, Object[] parameters)

There are my settings in the attached picture. Isn't there something wrong with those? Also, serial number of my device starts with zero, but after entering it into the GXDLMSDirector, the zero is automatically deleted. I doubt this is the problem, but could it possibly be?

Hi,

Hi,

Let Addresstype be Default. Don't change it. Also try with baudrate 300. 7E1.
Just create new device and select Landis+Gyr as a manufacturer.
Select serial port and give name to the meter.

Try to connect. I believe that you are using an optical probe.

Hi,

Hi,

I believe that the best way to go is if you ask this from the meter vendor. There is a data interface for DLMS, that you can use, but there are several options and if one is wrong it'll not work.

Mikko
