Newby to the forum... hi everybody.
Is is possible to use the DLMS.Simulator to simulate a DLMS meter through the PC serial port. I mean I have a sort of arduino connected to the RS232 to the PC and I want to read data froma a PC emulated DLMS meter. My hw would be the client and the PC (meter) would be the server.
I just need to read one meter connected to my board. Since I have no meter I would like to simulate that I am connected to the serial interface of a DLMS meter.

In that, there are different types of events in profile generic IC.

So is there any way we can get an event description based on the event code received from meter?

Please provide your suggestion.

I am trying to read the current energy use via the Landis & Gyr e450 Smart Meter.

To do so, I am using a optical probe via serial over usb.

I am able to read it using:
python3 main.py -S /dev/ttyUSB0 -a None

I would expect to find the power information under: 1.1.1.8.0.255, but I can not find any information on this logical name.

Am I doing something wrong, or could it be, that this information is not released by my energy provider?

I am trying to read ProfileGeneric 1.0.99.1.0.255:3 using DLMS C library. I get Not enough memory available. error.
Following is the communication log for your reference. (TX is data sent from C Application to meter, RX is response received from meter)

Meter is being read using TCP. HDLC Wrapper is enabled.

I got the data decrypted so far. I just need to translate them with which function do I do this? I checked the data with the translator in the GXDLMSDirector on Windows.

I just need the function from PDU to XML

I'm programming in Python.

When I try to read the association this error always comes. Few times it worked without an error. But most of the tries are failed.

I am using Gurux DLMS (C++) version. The few values of Instantaneous-profile is not in readable format.
When I read same using DLMSDirector tool, then I getting different format for the same.

I am sharing the fetched data of instantaneous-profile of my sample program as well as DLMSDirector tool.

I will email the log of DLMSDirector tool for the same.

Kindly check and suggest asap.

i recently got a Smartmeter. It is a KAIFA MA309 and it has an M-BUS interface. My energy company send me some instructions on how to read the data.

According to their documentation the Interface only sends out every 5 seconds an encrypted PDU. With a normal serial to M-BUS converter interface I was able to receive ecrypted data.

The company gave me the following information about the encryption:
