Hi,

Hi,

That depends from the GW. You need to ask is meter address used to identify the meter from the meter manufacturer or how they have done it. It might be that they are also using DLMS gateway service, but only the gateway manufacturer will know this. Gurux libraries are supporting both ways.

Hey ,

Hey ,

Yes , as i said the meter is identified with an AMR identifier and the GW with an IP @ , so how we can access the meter with GXDLMSDirector ?

Thanks ,

Hi,

Hi,

Is there only one meter behind every GW? If there is only one meter and you are using static IP address you can read the meter directly using TCP/IP address.

Hi,

Hi,

If there are a lot of meters, then you need to ask from the GW manufacturer how the meter address is used. DLMS allows several ways to define how to talk with the meter.

Hey ,

Hey ,

They use an AMR code to access the meters , so how we can use that in GXDLMSDirector ?
Thanks

Hi,

Hi,

It depends from from the meter manufacturer how AMR code is generated. You need to ask this from the GW vendor.

Hi,

Hi,

There are several ways how to do it and I can't say anything because I don't know what GW you are using. Also, some GW manufacturers are using custom solutions. Ex. you need first select the meter that you want to communicate with. You need to ask this from the GW manufacturer.

Hey Kurumi ,

Hey Kurumi ,

Our architecture is summarized in the attached picture . in that cas , which interface of device properties we have to use HDCL OR WRAPPER .
If You can please give us the full device properties that we have to use .

Thank You .

Hi,

Hi,

Is your Gateway like Moxa or is it from the meter manufacturer?
If it's Moxa, then you need to use HDLC framing. Are all the meters using the same communication channel or is there an own line for each of the meters?

Yes , each meter have an own

Yes , each meter have an own line identified by a serie code , still there is a connection issue . Can You please give us the parameters connection that we have to use with GXDLMSDirector .
Thank You ,

Hi,

Hi,

Try to change "Address Type" to "Serial Number" in GXDLMSDirector settings. Then set the serial number of the meter. This is one way how GW manufacturers have done it. I hope it helps.

Hi Mikko ,

Hi Mikko ,
below our situation :
GXDLMSDirector is running inside the Headquarters location and PPC Gateway has a modem that can connect to the Headquarters network and join its VPN with a static IP address ; Meter 1 and Meter 2 are DLMS HDLC meters connected to the Gateway on serial RS485. We Can ping the gateway’s VPN IP from a computer inside the Headquarters VPN but we can’t telnet the gateway, there is a login and password . that may be the problem ?

Hi,

Hi,

Because I don't know what gateway you are using the reason might be anything.
You should ask this from the gateway manufacturer because I can't help you with this.

Hi,

Hi,

You need to ask how to communicate with the GW. Is GW transparent or do you need to talk with it and in what format?

Hi Mikko ,

Hi Mikko ,

The gateway send the received data in broadcast and the meter with the convenable serial number replies.

Can You please tell me how to configure that in GXDLMSDirector for connecting to the meter .

Thank You

Hi,

Hi,

If the serial number is used as server address then change "Address type" from Default to "SerialNumber" and set meter serial number to the "Serial number" field.

Hi,

Hi,

I don't know if your version from the Elster meter supporting the serial number. You need to ask it from the meter vendor. I believe that your GW manufacturer is not supporting DLMS gateway commands, but you need to ask it from the GW vendor.

Hi mikko ,

Hi mikko ,
I hope you feel great ,

Our Gateway implements DLMS / COSEM using BPL-TCP / IP transport for smart meters with RS-485.

Elster smart meters only support DLMS / COSEM using data transports outside the scope of the project:
• AS1440 ==> "AM500 PLC S-FSK module"
• AS220 ==> "AM100 module - GSM / GPRS".

For this reason, our Gateway implements DLMS / COSEM on the BPL-TCP / IP data transport

EN 62056-21Defines the protocol on the RS-485 interface between the Smart Meter and the device reading the meter

We can read in that case the elster AS220 and A1440 meters with GXDLMSDirector ?

Hi,

Hi,

I check this from this AM100 flyer:
https://www.elstersolutions.com/assets/products/products_elster_files/A…
AM100 might support EN62056-21 or DLMS/COSEM.

EN 62056-21 is not DLMS. It's totally different standard. Because we don't have AM100 I can't check it. If your AM100 is supporting DLMS you can read it.

Our Meters are connected to

Our Meters are connected to the gateway by the RS485 cable ,
In that case , If the gateway supports DLMS and the RS-485 don't support ; we can read it ? Can you please check the RS-485 meters answers in the attached picture .

Hi,

Hi,

You need to ask this from the meter manufacturer. Only they know it for sure.
