Hi,
I am using GENUS meter (DLMS compliant) to get data from the tool but no matter what values I set the meter is not responding
I know the issue is probably with the values I set, so please help me debug
This is the value I am sending
Baud Rate - 9600
Data Bits - 8
Parity - EVEN
Stop Bits - ONE
Physical Server - 2 Logical Server - 1
Start Protocol - DLMS
Auth - LOW PW - 1A2B3C4D
(Check the screen shot too)
this is the Log I get
---->
19:28:52 Send SNRM request.

However I have another tool provided by Manufacturer, It reads data from meter just fine, these are the values I got from that other tool
BaudRate -> 9600
Communication Mode -> RS232
Logical Dev Address -> 1
Comm Media -> Direct
Packet Size -> 128
Access Level -> METER READER
Also I noticed the from the Manufacturers Tool(Not GuruX) there is no Physical Adrs for RS232 (WORKS),
but If I change the Communication Mode to RS485 I can set Physical Adrs (BUT DOESN'T WORK)
So
1) Is there a way to NOT set Physical address for RS232 ?
2) Issue is with the Address or with Other values I have defined ?
Also tried with Indian Standard settings, still no luck
Thanks a lot, now I changed
Logical Address -> 0
Physical Address -> 1
And its working fine , its weird though, cos I tried these values all the time Untill recently which made me Change it into 2,1
Also I found that when we get "Frame not fully received" error, we need to "Restart" the meter :D and it works again
I have to say that there are a lot of differences between the optical probes. If you have USBSerial port converter in your PC, don't use optical probe with serial port connection. it rarely works. Voltage levels are too low for LEDs.
Use optical probe that you can connect directly to the USB.
I am trying to communicate with Genus meter with following parameters :
Baud Rate - 9600
Data Bits - 8
Parity - EVEN
Stop Bits - ONE
Physical Server - 1 Logical Server - 0
Start Protocol - DLMS
Auth - LOW PW - 1A2B3C4D
But meter is not responding . I am using the same meter and has tried using the Gurux GUI as well.
Please help

@Ujju -
1. how did you get the password for the Genus meter? Is that common for all meters or specific to a given meter?
2. Can you please give a final screenshot with the settings that worked for you?
3. The port in Genus meters is a RJ11 4 wire port - can you let me know the connection diagram (lest I may be makeing a mistake on the interfacing.
@Mikko -
1. The last two versions of GxDLMSDirector tool available for download are completely different and have just too many parameters. In fact they dont even have a DLMS option in the dropdown for protocol. Can you help relate/set the differences?
2. Will sending "/?!\n\r" get me any response from the "GENUS" meter? Or that too requires some kind of password/signon/handshake?
Genus meter is not responding with GXDLMSDirector tool
Hi,
Physical address must always set.
Bytes on the log are wrong. Try to select Indian standard and try to connect with that. Don't change addresses. Meter don't reply if they are wrong.

Mikko

Hi,
If you are receiving this error when you are making a connection to the meter only way to solve is if you reboot the meter.
