I have been struggling for the past two days getting communications to work on a Hexing HXF300 unit, via a RS-485 interface.
It seems like I'm missing something, and don't understand how the serial number stuff works. Do you have a older version of GXDLMSDirector that can use the serial number of the device to establish communications?
I have been trying different addresses for a while now, no dice.
You should be able to connect using default settings.
Do you have external power in your RS-495 converter? If not, and you are using a USB port, get a converter with an external power supply. This is common problem.
Hi, I am using an external RS-485 module, The Waveshare USB to RS232/485/TTL. I have confirmed that I can communicate to another meter using the same unit.
Serial device is working fine, I can see TX activity going out to the meter with the on-board LED's of the serial device, if I attempt to connect.
The drivers for the serial device is working fine, as well as I can see the serial device in Device Manager

Hi,
Hi,
Are your serial port drivers the same? If you select "device manager" in Windows and find serial port there is port working OK?

Hi,
Hi,
Data is sent, but we don't know is meter receiving it. Can you check the cables?

The cables test fine. Seems
The cables test fine. Seems like the Optical Eye on the device can connect, and read values.
Hi,
Hi,
That sounds good. I just realized this. Try to change Start Protocol from "IEC" to "DLMS".
Then connect using the serial port.

Unfortunately, no dice.
Unfortunately, no dice.
It seems like the optical eye way is giving me an "Invalid responce", and no values is being read/obtained.
Hi,
Hi,
When you are connecting using optical probe, you *should* select IEC and when serial port you should select DLMS.
Verify baud rates from the meter vendor.
