gurux dlms available functionality from meter initiated connection

Gooday,

with the gurux dlms, if the connection is initiated by the meter and connected to my tcp connection, am I able to request specific info from the meter via association / send
tokens to the meter or is this only possible via server initiated connections(server initiate connection to meter)?

Hi,

If your meter is supporting auto connection it can establish the connection to the server.
If the meter doesn't support auto connection, the client must always establish the connection to the meter.

It does support auto connect & is connecting to my server,
do I have to use GXDLMSServer to request info/ send tokens or should I use GXDLMSSecureClient / GXDLMSClient ?

I have tried using the GXDLMSSecureClient & GXDLMSClient but im unable to get past reading the initial data the meter sends(which is just 2 OBIS codes & serial number), I cant establish association view.

Hi,

There are multiple arguments with DLMS and the meter doesn't reply if one of them is something else than the meter expects.

Try to connect with GXDLMSDirector. The correct settings are defined in the meter manual.
