Receive hardware fault

I am using Gurux DLMS library for ANSI C to communicate with meter.

Facing the error as "AARQRequest failed Access Error: Device reports a hardware fault" when try to communicate with meter.

In which case device reports a hardware fault?

Hi,

You didn't share the meter reply, but I noticed that you are using ciphering. Make sure that your block cipher and authentication keys are the same in both the client and the meter.

Is there any other case in which we receive this error?

Due to this error is it any possibility to reboot the device?

Hi,

You can try to reboot the meter. This is a generic error and there is no way to say what could be causing this. I suggest you to contact the meter manufacturer and ask if there is a firmware update available for the meter.
