As it was forementioned in another topics, "increasing authentication" we can read all objects from the smartmeter. I have already increased to "Low" and I have used a couples of passwords provided by the owner of the smarmeter, but I obtain some errors. I tried also change to "Reading Client" for checking energy data (Client Id. 2) . Dou you have any idea what could be my problem? Maybe the passwords are provided are wrong ? or should I add an optic probe? Im only using serial communication via USB-RS232.
I add my current configuration and the errors obtained:
I'm sorry. I haven't noticed your post for some reason.
So you can connect with authentication level None. What kind of errors you are receiving? Can you make the connection for the meter? Is meter answering anything at all with client address 2?
Hi,
Yes, at authentication "NONE" I can connect with the meter, I can read: "SAP assigment", the data referred to the model of the meter, the clock and "Association Logical Name". Using: Client Add: "10" and Physical Server: "90".
When I select authentication "LOW", automatically Client Add changes to "11", at this address the error is "disconnect mode".
I tried Client Add: "2" but the error is "Connection permently rejected. Authentication failure".
Finally for Client Add: "10" the error is "Connection permently rejected. Authentication mechanism name not recognized".
I stuck at this momment, I was wondering if the problem is related to the lack of additional optic probe or the password provided is wrong.
I believe that the client address for Low authentication might be 2, but your password is wrong. At least the meter error describes that. Client address 10 is used when you try to connect without a password.
Your client address or password is wrong and that is causing this problem.
Understood, thanks.
I tried another "password" provided, and at "Client Add 2" and "authentication Low" I can connect and read, but still the same objects that in "authentication NONE". The message showed is: " Unable to cast object of type "System.Byte[]" to type "System.Object[]"
I'm not trying to read any particular object, although I would like since I have the documentation with the objects list, I read that it could be problematic.
Im just connecting and the reading, but only the following are shown (image below):
I was re-checking the document. Im trying to read "Instantaneous voltage L1" as example, using "Reading Client: Id 2" and a low level of authentication with its password. But I think my problem is relate to this type of client only communicates with the meter though an optic probe. Im just using a RS232 as serial port.
I posted this issue last week
I posted this issue last week, have anyone got an idea could be my problem or what mistake am I making?
Thanks!

Hi,
Hi,
What object did you try to read when this error happens?

Hi,
When you are receivng this error? The message showed is: " Unable to cast object of type "System.Byte[]" to type "System.Object[]"
Do you find information from the document on what authentication level you need to use to access that object? What object do you want to read?

Hi,
Hi,
Can you read the object tree or have you read those objects with authentication level None?
BR,
Mikko
I have read those objects
I have read those objects with level none.
Then, I changed to level Low and new Client address: Id 2, but I couldn't read any new objects.
Hi,
Hi,
Try to change client address to 3 and use password: 00000003. This is ASCII string.

Mikko
Hi,
Hi,
I just tried and the connection is rejected. Authentication is failure.
Thanks,
