i am facing issue with reading Iskra ME372 Dlms meter using GuruxDLMSDirector software.
I can read the meter using optical probe with below settings
Mode : HDLC with ModE,
client ID - 64
authentication -low
password -12345678
logical server -1, physical -17
i have tried to read the meter using the rs 485 interface of the meter (terminal 29,27) using rs 485/usb converter, but it is showing error. I have tried different client id's like 64, 1, 10,11 , but all showing connection failure.
please help to read the meter using HDLC(through RS 485 interface)
Attached snapshot of HDLC setting used for your analysis
Log file of meter read using optical probe with HDLC Mode E, is share below for your refernce
Thanks for responding to my query.
The rs485/usb converter is working fine. I am able to read another Iskra DLMS meter( Model: AM550) with the same RS 485/usb adaptor.
For Iskra AM550, client ID 64 is not working, but i can read AM550 using client ID- 1, meter HDLC address - 43(configured inside the meter) through the same rs485 hardware interface.
is there any possibilities in settings i am using is wrong for ME372? like client id, password, hdlc address etc?
or any possibilities for RS485 communication is disabled in the ME372 meter?
If you can read AM550 then the cable is ok and I believe that the problem is in the parameters.
If the meter is replying nothing the problem is usually in the server or client address.
The easiest way to solve this is if you can read the meter with MeterView. Can you post the first row from the log file here? I can check what are the correct parameters. Addresses are different in different models.
I am using RS 485 Two wires only(A, B). The voltage level with respect to GND on each terminal showing around 1.8-1.9 vDC,
There is one Jumper/Connector on the meter near to RS485 terminals (pls refer attached Photo). Is there any relation between this jumper and RS 485 connection?
I don't have meterview software, unfortunately no support available from vendor. Is it free to download and use?
i can read the meter configuration IEC port set up using optical probe, guruxdlms ,hdlc with Mode-E. is there anything possible to check from your end ,if i share HDLC with mode E read log?
If the meter is not answering the reason is usually:
1. Wrong client or server address.
2. Wrong serial port settings.
It's also possible that communication is disabled, but I believe that the reason is #1.
Can you connect with the optical probe? If you can you can read the server address when using RS-485.
Hi,
Hi,
I remove the trace from your post because it's not needed. Do you have an external power source in your RS-248 converter. The problems usually are:
1. There is no external power source and the power levels are too low.
2. your wires are not set correctly.
Check the #2 first. That is usually the problem. Also, make sure that your USB to RS-485 converter is using two fires and not four.

You should also check the baudrate.

Hi,
Hi,
You need to ask MeterView from the meter vendor. If you share the trace with me I can check if I find any information.
