Honeywell / Elster AS3500 reading data with DLMSDirector

DLMSDirector

Honeywell / Elster AS3500 and AS3000 are very common in Portugal for renewable energy metering.

I have a AS3500 W12B-743-OSE-0037S-DD000 meter which I'm trying to read with DLMSDirector but so far without any success.

The only thing I managed to do was use the HDLC Address Resolver and find out that the meter manufacturer is ELS. Then I cloned the settings for Elster and changed just the flag from ELE to ELS.

After this I still did not manage to connect to it. This is my configuration: https://snipboard.io/gLPa0b.jpg

When I used the HDLC Address Resolver I also did not manage to get any server and client address combination.

I know that there is also a SW from Honeywell / Elster that is supposed to read the meters, but I can't find it available for download.

I'm using an optical probe from the same brand the Portuguese grid operator uses, and I already managed to use it on a Kaifa meter with DLMSDirector, so the probe is not the problem here.

Can somebody please help me?

Hi,

Is there DLMS label on the cover of the meter? It might be that your meter is using EN62056-21 and not DLMS/COSEM.

Your settings look correct, and I believe that if you open log ("View | Log | View log") you can see that the meter connects with EN62056-21 and try to move mode E.

If your meter supports DLMS/COSEM, your logical or physical server address differs from what the meter expects.

I can provide the correct settings for you if you can locate the meter manufacturer's app and connect it to the meter.

Hi,

Upon further check my meter is exactly the same as this one: https://snipboard.io/3piVNo.jpg it doesn’t seem to have any DSLM label on it.

Unfortunately, I can’t find the manufacturer app anywhere. Is there still a way to communicate with the meter? My main purpose is to be able to change the CT ratio myself.

Hi, If your meter is using…

Hi,

If your meter is using IEC 62056-21 the only way to communicate with it is to get the manufacturer's app. There are differences between IEC 62056-21 implementations, especially in the password generation.

Mikko
