What exactly does Capture action do?
Every PG has its dedicated data buffer inside of a meter.
My meter writes events into logbooks as soon as they happen (attribute #7 of PG is updated automatically).
Why Do i need to execute the Capture Action?

Hi,

Hi,

You can same a lot more than just events to the PG. Capture makes possible to save current values to the buffer. It can be called from the script.

So, as i understand the

So, as i understand the mechanics:
generally you could set your own set of capture objects for the buffer.
Then you can trigger reading those values into buffer by Capture action.
Is this correct?

PS: I just was confused because the only meter i worked with, has fixed (read-only) set of capture objects,
and saves them to buffer automatically, so it doesn’t even support manual Capture action.

Hi,

Hi,

It's easier (and safer) to use static capture objects. For this reason, this isn't usually implemented for cheaper meters that are for domestic use.

You have understood this correctly.

Mikko
