Hi James,

Hi James,

You can read meters with daisy chain using DLMS, but not with IEC. IEC is a simple protocol and there is no meter information the frame that is needed to read values using daisy chain

HI Kurumi,

HI Kurumi,

thank you for response.

is it possible to connect a single meter (not daisy chain) with transparent GW over RS485 interface with IEC protocol and perform time sync operation/or set desired time and date

Hi,

Hi,

It should be possible. You can't change the baud rate during the initialization because GW usually can't handle it.

i am surprised and thankful

i am surprised and thankful for swift responses.
baud rate during initialization; Does it mean starting baud rate 300 to default baud rate 9600?
Im sorry didnt get this... baud rate on Device as per IEC protocol must be;
300 or 9600..
Parity: Even or Odd
Data Bit: 7 or 8

Hi James,

Hi James,

It is a configurable parameter. :-)

When you communicate with an optical probe it's usually 300, but if you are operating with a serial port (RS-232 or RS-485), it can be anything. It's usually 9600.

Common optical probe default settings are: 300 7E1
Common serial port settings are 9600 8None1.

Hi James,

Hi James,

There are a lot of changes between IEC meters. You should check this. It's for Elster meters, but you can
try to read your meter in Mode A (readout mode) if you send "/?!\r\n"
