CEWE Prometer 100 W with Gurux GXDLMSDirector

DLMSDirector

Hi!

I'm trying to read the CEWE Prometer 100 W with GXDLMSDirector and it always return this message "Failed to receive reply from the device in given time"
I use the Device monitoring studio to capture the READ/WRITE packets in reading time and realise that the source/destination in write packet is not simillar to the packet I captured when I successfully connected to the meter via M-Cubed 100 application.

This is captured packet with GXDLMSDirector:
7E A0 0A 00 02 68 2D 21 93 3F 1D 7E
and this is captured packet with M-Cubed 100:
7E A0 07 03 21 53 03 C7 7E

You can see the source/destination in these packes is difference (00 02 with 03 21)

Please give me an advice.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

If you don't use a serial number as a meter address the settings are then the same.

Change address type back to Default. Then make sure that the physical server address is 1 and connect.

Hi Mikko,
sorry for late reply.

Maybe there's a confusion here, I used a tool to configure the serial number of meter from "WP023121" to "12345678" and I used this serial number in M-Cubed 100 for successful reading too.

And when I change address type back to "Default", then set the physical address to 1, it still throw "Failed to receive reply from the device in given time".

And I want to read the meter with serial number cause I want to read multiple meters, so I think the serial number is required.

Please give me an advice.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

M-Cubed 100 is using the server address that I described in the HDLC message that you share and I get those values from the HDLC message.
7E A0 07 03 21 53 03 C7 7E

Client address is 0x10 and physical address is 1.

Hi Mikko, thanks for your…

Hi Mikko, thanks for your advice.

I successfully connect/read the meter with these settings (using newest GXDLMSDirector and Gurux.DLMS github version):
Authentication: Low,
Client address: 0x20
Password: ABCD0001
Address Type: Default or Custom
Logical Server: 0
Physical Server: 1
Media: Serial (COM3)

My problem is, I want to read multiple meters, with each meter have an unique serial number. How can I use the serial number for connecting and data reading? or can I read multiple meters using physical number?

Thank you!

Additional information: I still cannot connect to the meter using Gurux.DLMS version 7.0.14.1, GXDLMSDirector (corresponding version) - (debug in visual studio)

Hi, Is your meter using RS…

Hi,

Is your meter using RS-485 or RS-232? You can connect multiple meters only for the RS-485 bus.

Some meters use using meter serial number as a meter address. I don't know if CEWE supports that.

You can also set a unique HDLC device address for each meter using IEC HDLC setup object.

https://www.gurux.fi/Gurux.DLMS.Objects.GXDLMSIecHdlcSetup

In that way, each of your meters can have a unique HDLC address.
