How to send multiple requests from one xml file?

I didn't know how to search the forum for this question. I need to read active_energy and reactive_energy from meters. Which is the best way to do so? Should I just pass multiple xml files as command line arguments? I tried to pass multiple actions in one xml document like this but it isn't working.

I solved it, my question was about the format, I wasn't able to find the documentation but figured it out by trial and error. Thanks for the answer!
