Reading values on Elster A1800

Hi,

First you should check those values under Register group.
Current, Voltage, etc. are usually there.

If they are not, I can check is your meter returning this data.

Can you read your meter and send log file to me?
You can get log selecting "View Log" under Tools menu.

Hi Pablo,

We parsed the log file that you sent. There are only 16 objects and all are shown on GXDLMSDirector.

There are couple of options.
1. Elster supports only partly DLMS protocol. It supports only objects what you see at the moment with GXDLMSDirector.

2. You must use higger authentication and password to connect to the meter to see registers.

Try to change authentication to Low, Client ID to 11 and use password.

Hi,

You should ask password from the meter vendor or owner. Password is usually changed.

After a telephone consultation with personnel of Elster Argentina, I informed that the energy meters are not of factory, with the firmware DLMS / COSEM. For this I should expressly request this characteristic at the time the acquisition is made.
So I could not interrogate the A1800 computer with GURUX software. My big question is because I have the same screen as ipaa07, if the A1800 does not have built-in DLMS?

Hi,

Our clients are reading Elster A1800 with DLMS/COSEM.
I find out that DLMS part is optional in Elster A1800 meters.

Hi,

DLMS support is optional for a1800. If the meter doesn't support DLMS then you can use GXDLMSDirector to update the firmware. You should check is there DLMS label on the meter cover.

Hi,

If you want to use GXDLMSDirector you need to communicate with DLMS. GXDLMSDirector doesn't handle ModBus protocol.

Please, if you have a new question, create a new topic and don't ask the same question twice.

You can use any kind of HW you want to. It debends from the meter is meter supporting TCP/IP, serial or both.
