Hi,
I am completely new to meter reading and DLMS. I have been tasked with reading data from an electric meter.
I have an ip address and a port number.
The meter is Meteronic MT318.
I have been provided a program that already communicates with the meter.

I need to emulate this functionality. I tried using GXDLMSDirector but Meteronic was not on the manufacturers list.

Any help with how to get started, how to connect, send and receive from the meter through gurux (preferably using .Net) is appreciated.

Hi Moataz,

You can use Gurux template to connect for the meter. Create new meter. Select Gurux as a manufacturer. Change Interface from HDLC to WRAPPER. Set TCP/IP host address and port number. Connect for the meter. You can connect for the meter with Gurux DLMS client. Use the parameters that GXDLMSDirector shows when you select the meter.

It's always easier if you start with GXDLMSDirector and check what meter can do.

Thanks for the reply. I was apple to connect to the meter using GXDLMSDirector after following the steps you wrote and using client address 0x11. However I cannot find Meteronic is not on the list.

Hi Moataz,

Meteronic is not on the list yet. It can be added if you just let me know did you use a low authentication level to establish the connection? If you connect without authentication the client address should be 0x10.

Hi,

Support for Meteronic is added. Update manufacturer settings after you start GXDLMSDirector and you can add it directly.

I used Low authentication with password, client address 0X11, interface WRAPPER. I changed nothing else.

Hi,

You can use it directly if you select "Hangzhou Meteronic Technology Co., Ltd." as a manufacturer.
