We are currently working on our own custom meter and testing with DLMSDirector software. Our custom meter is having support of IEC62056-21 optical port mode E and want to test with DLMSDirector software.
We tried to test this feature with software but we are not able to get any response from this software. We have selected IEC protocol as start protocol. For mode E, our custom meter is supported 300 baud rate as default and then it will convert to 4800 baud rate. For mode E, our meter is supported Device ID and Identification string to communicate but this kind of setting is not able to find in software. As our meter is custom made so we can change these parameters according to DLMSDirector software procedure.
Can you please help us on how to configure mode E protocol in DLMSDIrector software?

Mode E is not a configurable feature. It's defined in IEC 62056-21 and not in IEC 62056-46 so it might be that your meter simply doesn't support this feature.
If you send /?!\r\n as ASCII string and the meter doesn't reply anything Mode E is not implemented in your stack.
