DLMSDirector

Hi,
i'm tryng to read one Iskra MT831 with ethernet connection but I receive a message "failed to receive a reply from the device in given time".
I have used the settings suggested in "See default initial settings" without success.
Normally when i read the counter with another program ( lpreport from one Italian company ) I should insert also the serial number of the counter in order to get one answer but in GXDLMSDirector i can't find the right place were to insert this parameter.
I'm looking forward to receive any possible solution...
Thanks a lot!!
Kind regards

Hi Emanuele ,

Hi Emanuele ,

You need to change Interface from HDLC to WRAPPER if you are using TCP/IP connection.
Also, change client address to 1 and server address to 100 (0x64 in GXDLMSDirector).

Hi Emanuele,

Hi Emanuele,

If you are using TCP/IP connection try to change the interface from HDLC to WRAPPER.
Then also change the Logical Device to 1.
Make sure that client address is 64.

Mikko

Dear Mikko,

Dear Mikko,

thanks for you answer, attach you may find the configuration I used and the logs that I get.
I always receive the error "failed to receive a reply from the device in given time".
I don't know what it can be, maybe the counter is not answering because he doesn't get the serial number in the initial request.
What do you think I can do?
Thanks a lot and regards

Hi,

Hi,

Check is there DLMS label on the cover of the meter. If not, your meter is using IEC 62053-21 and you can't read your meter with GXDLMSDirector.

Dear Mikko,

Dear Mikko,

thank you very much for your help.
You are 100% right, I called the Italian representative and he confirmed that not even 1 MT831 was sold with DLMS protocol inside!!!!! He told me that only the new MT880 has it.
Can you suggest a way to read IEC 62053-21 protocol?

Thank you
Kind regards

Hi Emanuele,

Hi Emanuele,

You can get the readout sending "!?\r\n" and waiting a few seconds.

You can try with settings:
Baud-rate: 300.
Data Bits: 7
Parity: Even
Stop Bits: 1

If meter don't reply try with different baud-rates.

Dear Mikko,

Dear Mikko,

thank you for your great help, now I'm able to read the counter, I use "/? + serial number + ! CR LN" and then the Acknowledgement message.
Now I'm trying to parse the readout, do you have any suggestion?
Thank you again,
best regards.

Hi Emanuele,

Hi Emanuele,

For each row is OBIS code and value.
We don't have anything what you can use right away. You need to create parser by your self.

BR,
Mikko
