To establish a meter connection, the "client side' sends a SNRM + AARQ request. I would like to know if the 'client side' must send an RLRQ + DISC, or the only DISC to terminate this connection. What is the best practice in this issue?

Client Side End Connection Procedures

Hi,

This depends from the meter. Best practice is to call RLRQ + DISC. There are some older meters that can't handle RLRQ. For this reason, GXDLMSDirector doesn't call RLRQ if a serial port connection is used.

BR,

Mikko
