Communication between Landis-Gyr-E450 and Arduino + USB Host Shield using DLMS protocol

Good morning,

I am starting with my project to try to connect a measurement device to my arduino that has a USB host Shield board attached through an optical cable, I have read that the DLMS protocol can communicate in these conditions as long as I modify and specify the type of port that I will use, I would like to know if this is true

Hello,

This is true, but there are some manufacturer spesific settings and the meter doesn't reply if one of the settings is different than the meter expects. The easiest way to start is if you download the GXDLMSDirector and establish the connection with that. The UI helps you get the better idea from DLMS meters and what kind of data you can collect from your meter.
