i am able to connect client server using your examples
but how i will transfer data from client to server or vicerversa
what is data, its type and structure ?

You can read the meter with an example client.

Data and its type depend on what you want to read. I believe that the best way to start is if you download the GXDLMSDirector and read your meter with it. It helps you to get an idea from DLMS meters.

I ran you java server example and run GXDLMSDirector
these are cmd line params on director : -h localhost -p 4060 -r sn -iWRAPPER -t Verbose
pls check attached file
server console is printing client connected
but on director getting error failed to receive data
what could be error ? or can you provide sample data which is working

Hi,

Hi,

You try to connect with WRAPPER and your meter is operating using HDLC.
If you want to use WRAPPER you need to change TCP/IP port from 4060 to 4062.

i tried changing port to 4062 with wrapper
and also HDLC-4060
still same issue.Is there any other setting required

Hi,

Hi,

Create a new device. L&G is using Logical Name referencing. Check that it's checked.
Then Select Interface HDLC and port number: 4061. Then accept the changes and connect.

Is there any doc or discussion where complete process & example to writing and reading data from client to server and viceversa.

Hi,

You can write at the same was as you read data from the meter.
You need to change the access rights for higher if you want to write for the meter.
