I have a meter with the following iec-62056-21 communication.

>> b'/?!\r\n'
<< b'/EAA5JAM300-310111\r\n'
>> b'\x06001\r\n'
<< b'\x01P0\x02(35657)\x03R'
>> b'\x01P1\x02(0000)\x03a'
<< b'\x01B0\x03q'

I send 0000 as password to the meter but meter doesn't accept and exit.
35657 digits change every time I try to login.
Does anyone know what type of algorithm this meter use?

thank you

Hi,

Hi,

35657 is a seed. You can try with Elter password. If it doesn't work you must ask it from the manufacturer. The formula is not defined in the IEC specification.

More information from Elster password:

Thank you Mikko

Manufacturer is not available.
Is there any way to find out what algorithm used?

Hi,

Hi,

If Elster algorithm does not work, it can be anything.
Standard doesn't define the algorithm.

Mikko
