General discussion

Hello everyone!
Requirement:
I want to monitor data of eight Landis Gyr ZMG405CR4.0007.03 Energy Meters on my desktop PC.
Research:
I did a bit of research I found out that MAP120 is its configuration software so I downloaded. The model suggests that energy meter supports RS485 interface on RJ12 Connector. I also came to know that I can communicate these meters with my destop PC (Serial port built-in) over COSEM/DLMS protocol on serial link which brought me to this site.
Problem:
I hope my situation is now clear to all. My problem is I am a newbie to COSEM/DLMS, how can I achieve my desired task? Any help or suggestion will be appreciated. I have already downloaded and installed GXDLMSDirector from this site. I want further insight into this task. If any query, can be asked. Thanks.

Regards,
Jack

Landis Gyr Energy Meter and DLMS

Hi Jack,

I believe that best way to go is if you make own monitoring app. If you are using RS-485 and all meters are in same line you can access them using serial number.

Download library from GitHub: github.com/Gurux/

C# settings are like this:
GXDLMSClient cl = new GXDLMSClient(false, 16, GXDLMSClient.GetServerAddress([Meter serial number]), Authentication.None, null, InterfaceType.HDLC);

More info you can find from here:

Hello Sir!

Hello Sir!
Thank you so much for your response.
I understood what you said. I'll have to multidrop different energy meters over RS485 and use RS485 to RS232 converter for my desktop PC has serial RS232 port. but I want to ask: Can I only use GXDLMS Director software to monitor data from energy meter? I mean no C#, Java coding etc..

Dear Sir,

You can read current values using GXDLMSDirector, but you can't schedule reads.

Mikko
