Meter main 4mb eeprom memory ciphered

Hi Mr. Mikko, I would like to ask you about the blockCipher and Authentication keys . I try to find the keys inside meters the main 4mb eeprom memory where the security keys is stored. The meter saves the most data(not all) ciphered in the main eeprom memory and I can’t locate the address with the saved keys. I have read with programmer the eeprom.
Is there some software to “translate” the ciphered hex dump of the eeprom memory?? Is it possible to help me?
I have been trying for months to do that with no success.

Hi Lambros,

I believe that this is not possible. The keys might be anywhere, and they can be encrypted.

I have identified a paragraph within the data (hex dump) that I believe holds the keys. Is there any program to decrypt the data of that 'paragraph' ?

Hi,

You can use GXDLMSDirector to convert DLMS messages to XML.
Select Tools and DLMS Translator and set the correct keys.

Is possible the GXDLMSDirector software to convert (decrypt ) the saved data of the eeprome memory(one 'paragraph')??
The DLMS messages of my meter does not contain the cipher keys because I don't have them. I use only high password not cipher keys, the cipher keys that I receive from vendor is wrong! Also the manufacturer can't give me extra support about that issue.

I've been trying to solve this problem for many months now, I want to send you PM for farther explain about.

Hi Lambros,

No, that is not possible. You can use GXDLMSDirector to communicate with DLMS meters using different communication channels.

The DLMS frames don't include the keys. The client and meter must know exactly what keys to use, and they must be the same on both sides.

Hi Mr. Mikko, is it possible for you to find the keys with some software (brute force etc) or do you recommend a person who can do that?

I will pay for this as much as it costs for that service.

Hi Lambros,

I'm afraid this is not possible. I suggest that you contact the meter manufacturer or attempt to reset your meter to its factory settings.

Hi,

Establish the connection to the metee and check if there is a "Global meter reset" script table (0.0.10.0.0.255).

Then you need to execute that script. If you can't connect to the meter, you need to ask the meter manufacturer.
