Hello,

If meter supports DLMS and has serial port (rs485), does it have to support HDLC only (via serial) or it could have different data link protocol?

Hi,

Meters should use HDLC with RS-485, but there are so many different meters that I'm quite sure that there is a meter model that is using some else data link protocol. I believe that 99.9% of meters are using HDLC.
