Gurux DLMS for Java

Hi
I have meters which are connected through Modem (GSM SIM with static IP) that connect to Centralized HES system. Around 2000 meters are available and may grow in size

Guide me the architecture suitable i.e., AMI as server / Java Server

How many instances have to be run to cater 2000 modems.

At present each modem vendors having their own handshaking and architecture and want to
streamline and use the open source software using Gurux.

I am familiar with java and PHP programming but not in dotnet.

Hi,

Hi,

If you have existing HES, it might be easier if you implement a server with Java. If you are using AMI you need to copy collected data to another system.

You need to create your own client for each meter that you want to read. You don't usually need to read all the meters at the same time. So you can create N threads that read the meters. 2000 is the amount that you can read simultaneously, but sometimes it might be easier if you read a smaller amount at once.

All this depends on the communication channel. How fast it is, etc.

Mikko

Hi

Hi
Thanks for the fast response.
Don't have HES system. I need to build a new one.
The communication is through SIM (GSM) -- Meter -> Modem(SIM)-> Centralized HES
I need to display inst data, load survey, day survey and tamper data instantly i.e., realtime.

In view of the above, suggest the architecture for fast and reliable implementation

Hi,

Hi,

If you use AMI you get a lot of features that you don't need to implement. If you build your own application using java components you can build an application as you wish.

There is no simple answer because I don't know what kind of application you need.

BR,
Mikko
