The media component will add all received bytes to an internal buffer and don't notify received data.
So it does exactly the same as this:
media.NofifyIncomingData = false;
Do something.
media.NofifyIncomingData = true;
It doesn't lock anything. It simply changes the boolean variable, so the problem is somewhere else.
