i would like to get your opinion about the meaning of the HLS secret parameter. Some says it's the session key generate by a key derivate function from a master key. other stipulate that is just the secret password (LLS) of the meter. what is the correct meaning? thanks in advance for your support.
The client part counts HLS f(StoC) from the password and Server to Client (StoC) challenge that the server sends when the connection is established. In GMAC and ECDSA password is not used because the authentication key is used instead of the password.
The master key is only used when a new key is updated for the meter.
