Certificate signing request

I have some following queries regarding CSR (Certificate signing request)

1. While importing the certificate (using import certificate method) , which public key is used to verify the received certificate signature ?
a. Public key of the ROOT CA which has signed this received certificate.
b. Public key which is received with the certificate.

2. While importing the certificate (using import certificate method) , which data used to calculate the SHA-256 which is then used to verify the signature of the certifiacet?
