Open docker using the terminal and run this. apt-get update && apt-get install -y default-mysql-client Then try to connect to your MySQL DB. mysql -h YOUR_HOST_NAME -u USER_NAME -p I believe that you get the same error message. This is a clear MySQL connection error. I try with empty MySQL and get the latest docker. It starts to work without problems.
Try to install MySQL client for the docker.
Open docker using the terminal and run this.
apt-get update && apt-get install -y default-mysql-client
Then try to connect to your MySQL DB.
mysql -h YOUR_HOST_NAME -u USER_NAME -p
I believe that you get the same error message.
Check also the firewall.
