Hello.
I have emh lzqj-xc (with "dlms" label), but I can't connect to meter via DLMSDirector. I connect with parameters below, but connection is fail. Third party software connect to this meter successfully (see screenshot bellow), but messages does not looks like HDLC, isn't it? Which parameters of connection I must use to connect successfully via DLMSDirector?
I've been struggling with a similar issue, but in my case I'm trying to connect to a physical device using the "Net" option.
I think I've filled in all fields correctly, but I'm getting the error: "Failed to receive reply from the device in given time.". I keep increasing the Wait Time parameter but with no positive outcome.
I was also using different Client Address: 10, 16 and 20.
Would you mind telling me if there's anything I'm doing wrong? My parameters are as in the attached picture.
Thank you Mikko for your prompt reply. I did change it to 10, but it didn't help.
I have also tried to use SerialNumber as Address Type with a given SN of the device but it didn't help, either.
If it's of any help, here's what I'm getting:

Firstly I want simply to thank you, the amount of knowledge retained within forum and functionality of Gurux implementation are impressive.
I have similar issues as described above and because of my little experience in DLMS meters I would like to state a general question(s).
The manual for EMH LZGJ-XC states it shall support both the IEC 62056-21 and DLMS. As Evgen described, using the manufacturer software I was able to read registers, but when looking on Wireshark logs it is a pure IEC 62056-21 protocol.
So I have two questions regarding observation above:
1. Does the Gurux implementation allow somehow to communicate using IEC 62056-21 (I found already some info that development of this option was abandoned, but I just wanted to confirm)
2. How this support of IEC 62056-21 and DLMS by EMH meters works in practice? Does this means, that they can simultaneously communicate using both protocols or I need to make some kind of setup on meter (connect with specific parameters)?
I am trying to establish DLMS communication with EMH a week now, and to be honest slowly lose hope that it will ever work. It is even hard to me to identify an area which I should focus on to solve my issue – if this is a matter of meter setup or connection parameters..
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance and have a good day!
Peter
I'm sorry for the slow reply. I was received a lot of spam messages and I missed a few questions. :-(
Please, create a new topic if you have a new question in the future.
1. No, there are differences between IEC 62056-21 implementations and it is quite challenging to make it work with all the meters.
2. We haven't communicate EMH meters with IEC 62056-21 for a long time. If I remember right you can communicate with one protocol at the time.
Simultaneously communication is not possible.
Try with this settings:
Client address: 20
Authentication: Low
Password:Default is 11111111
Physical Server: 10
Hi,
Hi,
Another app is using IEC 62056-21. It's an ASCII based protocol and you are right, it's not DLMS.
I did try with one version from EMH lzqj-xc. Try to change physical server to 10. You can see my settings in the pic.

Mikko

Hi,
Hi,
Try to change the physical server address from 1 to 10.
