We are using Indian standard meter. Can we get Push Data and Events over Serial interface if we do not have internet connectivity with meter.
Also there is no option to set com port for configuring push address, there is only IP address, in GXDLMSDirector.
Some meters expect that connection to the meter is established if push messages are sent using a serial port. They don't send event messages if the client is not connected to the meter.
DLMS is a very open standard. It doesn't define that the meter must send Push data or events to pass DLMS certificate tests. The meter may or may not send push messages over the serial port.
Hi....Is it possible to monitor a serial port for a simple push button switch that would cross two pins of a rs232 port? I am looking for a way to trigger an event in a patch with a simple push button switch, using an Arduino board seems over kill.
Hi Mikko,
Hi Mikko,
Can you please provide an update.
Hi,
Hi,
GXDLMSClient don't show received push events from the serial port at the moment. Only TCP/IP connection is supported.
You need to make your own app for that. We can add support for serial port, but it takes a few days.

Hi Mikko,
Hi Mikko,
Thanks for the quick update.
Is it possible for the Meter (DLMS Server) as per DLMS standard to send Push Data and Push Events
over serial?
Can the Meter Manufacture make changes in their Meter firmware to support sending Push Data
and Push Events over serial interface?

You need to ask this from the meter manufacturer.

Hi Mikko,
Hi Mikko,
Whether sending Push Data and Push Events over serial interface is valid in IS16444 or even as per DLMS standard.
If the Meter manufacturer modifies their firmware to send Push Data and Push Events over Serial, will they violate the DLMS specifications.

HI,
Please, create a new topic if you have a new question. But no, it's not possible.
